The Atlanta Business Chronicle recently published an article that captures M&A insights from a panel discussion at ACG’s 2020 Atlanta Capital Connection. Bennett Thrasher Partner Vijay Vaswani moderated the conversation and strategic dealmakers from Burr & Thurman, LLP, McGriff Seibels & Williams, Cox Enterprises, Cardlytics and Argenbright Holdings elaborated on current themes and trends in the industry.

During the panel Vaswani noted, “Certain elements of strategic M&A are industry-dependent” including what due diligence is conducted, how a transaction is structured and how a target company is valued. In addition, broad changes taking place in some industries create additional nuances that don’t apply across the board.

Additionally, Vaswani shed light on the importance of due diligence in a deal process and how different strategic investors assemble a team of functional experts from internal resources to conduct diligence. This sparked conversation amongst the panelists as they touched on their own experiences and discussed the impact of due diligence on successfully completing a deal.
